Sam Wylie

Principal Fellow

Dr Sam Wylie joined Melbourne Business School in 2004 as a Principal Fellow.

After completing his PhD at London Business School in 1997, Sam was an Assistant Professor at the Turk School of Business at Dartmouth College for seven years. He was also an intelligence officer for the Australian Federal Government for six years from 1986–1992.

Sam’s research is focused on banking, wealth management, corporate finance and the GFC. Alongside his academic career, Sam has consulted for a number of global and Australian firms, including Merrill Lynch, Franklin Templeton, AustralianSuper, NAB, ANZ, AMP, Moss Ledge Capital, Resource Capital Fund, BHP, CSR, Leighton, Greenway Capital and more.

Sam has received six teaching excellence awards from Melbourne Business School and currently teaches Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Banking, Wealth Management, and Insurance and Risk Management on the MBA, Executive and Senior Executive MBA programs and executive education programs.

Sam is also a frequent commentator in the Australian Financial Review, The Australian, Money Management and other national radio and TV outlets.
